About the Role:
As a Senior Technical Analyst, you will provide technical expertise, support, and guidance to the company, its trustees, and third parties as needed. Your responsibilities include driving technical pension policies, staying updated on complex pension legislation, and translating this into the firm’s pension offerings and scheme administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about FCA, DWP, and HMRC changes; assess impacts and communicate effectively internally and externally; provide training when necessary.
- Own and resolve proposition and technical queries from Business Development, Operations, and Support teams, including complex case referrals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to analyze customer demand and regulatory changes, supporting necessary adjustments to ensure optimal customer outcomes.
- Identify emerging risks and support governance solutions to prevent poor customer outcomes.
- Contribute to regulatory documentation, web content, and operational procedures from a technical perspective, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Analyze developing pension legislation, oversee major changes, and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support colleagues in managing and implementing system, regulatory, and legislative changes for customer benefit and business growth.
- Resolve complex pension technical queries, acting as a reference point and liaising with internal and external contacts.
- Represent the Group at relevant industry bodies and working groups to support the development of the Group’s brand and technical expertise.
- Ensure Customer Operations and Experience teams adhere to procedures related to pension products; provide technical support and training.
- Participate in projects affecting pension processes or systems, leveraging technical expertise.
- Assist in implementing new products and tools related to the pension proposition.
- Follow procedures to manage operational risks and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Perform other activities within your capabilities as directed by management.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Essential:
- Knowledge of investment platforms, SIPP, GIA, and ISA.
- Understanding of the wider pensions market.
- Experience with HMRC and FCA regulations.
- Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative.
- Confident presenter with strong interpersonal skills.
- Calm demeanor, able to handle challenging situations.
- Extensive experience in pension administration and regulatory projects.
- Deep understanding of pension legislation and regulations.
