Job summary

The Rofft School in Wales is seeking a Level 4 Teaching Assistant to join our Resourced Provision for pupils with social communication needs. The role involves supporting individual learning, planning and delivering activities, and contributing to personalised learning for children with additional needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Resourced Provision Teacher and broader staff to enable pupils to access learning, build confidence and become more independent.

Qualifications

• Level 4 Teaching Assistant designation.
• Experience supporting pupils with social communication needs.
• Willingness to work within a Resourced Provision team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities under the direction of the Resourced Provision Teacher to support pupils' individual learning, development and well-being.
• Provide classroom cover for the Resourced Provision Teacher, including during PPA and management time, ensuring continuity of learning and support.
• Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning programmes for pupils with additional learning needs, both individually and in small groups.
• Support pupils to access learning, develop communication, social, emotional and independence skills, and participate fully in school life.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, contributing to reviews, IDPs and discussions regarding pupil outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents & carers, external agencies and other professionals to support pupils' individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
• Contribute to the creation of a safe, nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment where pupils feel valued, supported and encouraged to succeed.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional well-being and independence, helping pupils develop confidence and resilience.
• Support the inclusion of pupils within mainstream classes and wider school activities where appropriate.
• Uphold and promote the school's vision, values and commitment to inclusive education for all learners.
