Job summary

WSP UK & Ireland is seeking a systems engineer with rail experience to join our growing team. You will contribute to major infrastructure programmes, apply MBSE approaches, and work in a collaborative environment that values practical, value-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline
• Chartered status or on track to achieve Chartered status
• Post-degree experience delivering systems integration in a rail environment
• Experience with MBSE and systems engineering tools
• Ability to define appropriate systems engineering approaches on projects
• Experience leading others on systems engineering projects
• Background in client-facing roles or stakeholder engagement
• Understanding lifecycle stages and SE challenges

Responsibilities

• Support project teams to solve complex integration problems on major infrastructure programmes
• Lead tasks within a project environment and mentor junior staff
• Demonstrate willingness to challenge and learn from clients and colleagues
• Define projects and apply systems thinking to reduce risk
• Develop interval team capabilities and professional growth
• Gain commercial awareness of project scope, time and cost constraints
