Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to deliver products through the full lifecycle, from requirements definition through to acceptance. The role benefits from a defence background, especially in training systems, and involves a matrix team to develop procurement strategies and oversee subcontractors.

Strong stakeholder management and cross-disciplinary collaboration are essential. The position is primarily home-based with travel to internal and customer meetings.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent training in a related field.
• Strong systems engineering experience across the full lifecycle (requirements to acceptance).
• Experience with engineering standards and system engineering principles.
• Ability to write scopes of work and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of development of Systems of Systems.
• Collaborative, multi-disciplinary problem solving.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% with a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Define work packages and technical requirements with the Solution Architect.
• Contribute to execution and delivery of key work packages.
• Engage in product specification and qualification activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on procurement and training devices.
• Support design, development and delivery of training devices.
• Create and maintain system documentation and configurations.
• Champion Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance and continuous improvement.
• Undertake other duties to meet programme needs.
