Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive end-to-end engineering activities for safety-critical aerospace systems in the UK. You will spearhead system design, architecture development, and verification across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely delivery within budget and regulatory requirements.

You will define and manage customer requirements, perform performance analyses and trade studies, and lead compliance activities from concept through certification.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle: design, integration, verification and validation.
• Experience on aircraft systems or complex safety-critical products and their development challenges.
• Ability to translate customer needs into clear technical requirements and manage stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering work packages with schedule, budget and quality accountability.
• Define and manage system requirements with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop system architectures, perform trade studies and support integration.
• Oversee subsystem development and ensure requirements flow-down and implementation.
• Lead verification, validation and compliance activities throughout the lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and act as primary customer interface for system decisions.
• Define, develop, integrate and support electrical systems from concept to certification and in-service support.
• Engage with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver complex safety-critical systems.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and ARP4754 guidance.
