Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Senior V&V Systems Engineer to take ownership of verification and validation for advanced aerospace and defence systems. You will ensure the integrity of communication and avionics platforms, enabling safe and compliant operations on fast-paced projects.

Location is Glasgow or Edinburgh with on-site work 3–4 days per week. Candidates should have 5+ years in V&V, be eligible for SC clearance, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust system solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in system verification and validation (V&V) in aerospace/defence or related fields.
• Strong understanding of system integration and test methodologies.
• Experience with requirements traceability and compliance verification.
• Proficiency with Polarion for requirements and test management.
• Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python).
• Knowledge of industry standards such as DO-178C/DO-254 or MIL-STD.

Responsibilities

• Lead V&V activities for aerospace and defence applications.
• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and reports to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate complex systems.
• Identify, document, and track system issues with engineers to resolve.
• Support risk management and lifecycle quality assurance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of V&V processes.
