Job summary

Leonardo UK Basildon is seeking a Project Chief Engineer (Systems Design Authority) to lead technical direction across electro‑optic and precision guidance products. You will represent Leonardo with external stakeholders and drive product integrity through design reviews, safety and regulatory compliance, and a targeted, value‑driven approach to risk management.

You will mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring traceable evidence and alignment with budgets and schedule while advancing learning

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of electronic and optical systems.
• Experience with requirements, test qualification and acceptance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution for all phases of the solution development, representing Leonardo with external stakeholders.
• Lead design reviews and ensure product integrity and compliance with company procedures.
• Guide teams to assemble evidence and engage stakeholders for Design Integrity certification.
