Leonardo UK, based in Southampton, seeks a Chief Project Engineer to lead systems design authority for Naval RF/Comms products. You will deputise for the SDA, engage customers on technical solutions, and drive design integrity across lifecycle stages.

You will mentor a multi-disciplinary team, chair design reviews, and ensure compliance with requirements, safety, and performance targets while advancing next-generation capabilities within a hybrid work environment.

Competenze

• Very strong background in development of complex military products.
• Experience developing systems solutions in RF or Communications domains.
• Experience with Requirements, Test Qualification and Acceptance.
• Experience managing the Design Standard and Configuration Management.
• Experience in gaining Design Certification and Customer Acceptance.
• Ability to develop technical solutions within agreed budgets/timescales.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with SMEs and End Users of diverse nationalities.
• Self-motivated leader and team player.

Mansioni

• Own the technical solution for all phases of the solution development by representing Leonardo with external stakeholders.
• Chair design reviews on Products, Systems and Services to ensure they are technically sound and compliant with lifecycle management.
• Ensure products are compliant with performance, legislative and contractual requirements.
• Lead and mentor the technical team to enable cost effective design programme and product solutions.
• Define strategic capability improvements and cost initiatives.
• Manage and communicate issues and opportunities to the Systems Design Authority.
