Ian Williams Ltd is seeking a Senior Surveyor to lead the commercial aspects on a major contract. The role focuses on delivering contractual and financial objectives, with data-driven decision making and strong client relationships.

The post requires proven commercial management experience, advanced Excel skills, and leadership capabilities to spearhead a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial management, ideally within property services or construction.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis ability.
• In-depth knowledge of cost control and SOR codes is desirable.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve commercial conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a high-performing commercial team, ensuring delivery of contractual and financial objectives.
• Own and influence the commercials of a long-standing asset management contract through strategic decision-making.
• Manage and resolve commercial conflicts, protecting the company’s interests while maintaining client relationships.
• Provide accurate forecasting and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability in commercial activities.
• Interrogate and manipulate data with Excel to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
• Carry out regular commercial reviews and prepare detailed packs with Senior Leadership.
• Collaborate with operational teams to align commercial strategies with service delivery goals.
• Champion continuous improvement using data insights to optimize processes and performance.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and resolve commercial conflicts, safeguarding the company’s interests while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Provide accurate forecasting and reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability in all commercial activities to explain, justify, and influence decisions.
• Interrogate and manipulate data with advanced Excel skills to analyse SOR codes, identifying cost-saving opportunities and delivering efficiencies across the contract.
• Conduct regular commercial reviews and compile detailed commercial packs with Senior Leadership.
• Collaborate with operational teams to align commercial strategies with service delivery goals.
• Champion continuous improvement, using insights from data to optimise processes and enhance performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in commercial management, ideally within property services or construction.
• Advanced Excel skills, you’re an Excel ninja who loves drilling into data.
• Ideally, but not essential, in-depth knowledge of SOR codes and cost control.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve commercial conflicts.
