Job summary

Mears Group is recruiting a Senior Support Worker for the Alva Office area, covering Edinburgh, West Lothian & Forth Valley. The role focuses on mentoring care staff, overseeing service delivery and supporting individuals with more complex needs.

It is a flexible 40-hour week with on-call responsibilities and occasional direct care. You will help maintain high standards of care, conduct audits and liaise with social workers to ensure best outcomes for service users.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the care sector.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Flexibility with working hours and a proactive approach.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, respectful care.
• SVQ Level 2 qualification is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
• Carry out spot checks, audits and observations in service users' homes.
• Develop and review initial care plans and conduct regular reviews.
• Attend meetings with social workers and other professionals.
• Monitor care standards and ensure policy compliance.
