Job description

Our Children's Home Kilwinning are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join their children's home. We support young people up to age 18, with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and provide them with a safe, nurturing, family - style environment to help them reach their full potential. Supporting our young people means that you are there through the ups, the downs, and all of the moments in between. It means listening, encouraging, having fun, offering reassurance and helping each young person feel safe, seen and supported. As part of our team, you will help young people with everyday life, build positive and trusting relationships, develop their independence and discover ways to help them understand and manage their emotions. You'll celebrate their achievements, support them through challenges, and most importantly, be someone they can rely on.

As part of our work, we are committed to help support the transformation of how Scotland cares. This is guided by the national initiative The Promise which ensure that children and young people grow up loved, safe and respected so that they realise their full potential. This principle sits at the heart of everything we do and shapes the way we support young people, families and communities across Scotland.

Due to the nature of this role, you will need a full UK driving license and your SVQ 3 qualification in Children and Young People.

At Aspris, we want every young person to feel understood, supported, and ready to take on the world. That's why our homes are shaped around the needs of each child - this ensures that all of our young people get the support that's shaped around their strengths, challenges, and goals.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing home where children and young people can thrive. Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will lead shifts, support and mentor colleagues, and help ensure the highest standards of care are delivered at all times.

You will support our young people to build confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes, whether that's learning essential life skills, engaging in hobbies and activities, maintaining education attendance, or enjoying new experiences within their local community. No two days are the same, from supporting with daily routines and fun activities, to managing challenging situations and celebrating achievements.

At Aspris, learning never stops - and that's something we truly value. As a growing organisation, we rely on accurate, detailed data, which can include sensitive information such as incident reports and disclosures from young people. High attention to detail is essential to the role.

To support you, we offer continuous CPD and development opportunities, helping you grow and become the best version of yourself.

What does this mean?
  • Automatic enrollment onto NVQ/SVQ qualifications within 6-months of starting a Residential Support role
  • The opportunity to be qualified to degree level
  • A clear pathway for you to progress in your role
