Job description

Our Children's Home in Kilmarnock are looking for a compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to join their team. Our 5-bedded home supports young people up to the age of 18, who have a wide range of life challenges, additional needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our home provides a safe, stable, and caring environment where children and young people feel valued, supported, and cared for. Our large, spacious home and garden offer a welcoming setting in which young people can feel secure and develop a sense of belonging.

We are passionate about building positive, trusting relationships and dedicate our time to supporting and guiding each young person to achieve positive outcomes. Through individualised care, encouragement, and consistent support, we help children and young people develop confidence, resilience, and essential life skills, enabling them to thrive and reach their full potential.

As part of our work, we are committed to help support the transformation of how Scotland cares. This is guided by the national initiative The Promise which ensure that children and young people grow up loved, safe and respected so that they realise their full potential. This principle sits at the heart of everything we do and shapes the way we support young people, families and communities across Scotland.

Due to the nature of this role, a full UK driving license is essential.

At Aspris, we want every young person to feel understood, supported, and ready to take on the world. That’s why our homes are shaped around the needs of each child - this ensures that all of our young people get the support that’s shaped around their strengths, challenges, and goals.

As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker, you will be at the centre of the fun! Taking young people to see their friends, trips to the cinema, partaking in community events such as fundraisers and galas, teaching the young people to cook, encouraging them to be independent and many other brand new opportunities that they may never have had the chance to do previously. This role allows you to really make a difference to the lives of those under our care and to build strong relationships with the young people and staff alike.

At Aspris, learning never stops - and that’s something we truly value. As a growing organisation, we rely on accurate, detailed data, which can include sensitive information such as incident reports and disclosures from young people. High attention to detail is essential to the role.

To support you, we offer continuous CPD and development opportunities, helping you grow and become the best version of yourself.

What does this mean?

  • Automatic enrollment onto NVQ/SVQ qualifications within 6-months of starting a Residential Support role
  • The opportunity to be qualified to degree level
  • A clear pathway for you to progress in your role
