Job summary

Priory Group is seeking a Senior Support Worker for the Highfields site in Staffordshire to lead and supervise care staff, ensuring safe, person-centred support for residents with autism or learning disabilities.

You will role-model best practices, coach colleagues, oversee daily operations, and support residents to live independent lives while maintaining compliance and high care standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting choice, dignity and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred care.
  • Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers and role allocation.
  • Ensure residents have person-centred plans and participate in meaningful activities.
  • Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
  • Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
  • Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management.
  • Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting and compliance with legislation.
  • Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

Highfields is located in Chasetown, Staffordshire. We offer residential support for eight males and females who are autistic or have a learning disability. Highfields is on the edge of a suburban area, close to a local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We want to provide person-centred support to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we care for, enabling them to have a healthy, happy and independent life, within a safe and welcoming home.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will act as a positive role model, providing effective supervision and guidance to support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times. You will play a key role in supervising day-to-day operations, coaching colleagues, leading team meetings, and ensuring the people who use our service are supported to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Key Responsibilities:
