Job summary

Priory's Heron House in Blackpool is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our team. You will lead shifts, supervise care delivery and help residents build independence through person-centred plans and meaningful activities.

You'll contribute to team development, administer medications safely and uphold safeguarding standards while promoting dignity and wellbeing for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others.
• Commitment to promoting choice, dignity, and independence for those we support.
• Knowledge of care standards, safeguarding practices.
• Reliable, flexible, and proactive in problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care.
• Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
• Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
• Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
• Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
• Manage service users' finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
• Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
• Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

Heron House has an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our team.

Heron House is a new development opening later this year in Blackpool FY3 and will offer residential support to adults with a learning disability and/or autism.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
