Job summary

Omexom in Scotland is seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Substations to lead the delivery of major projects from the front, reporting to the Business Unit General Manager. You will manage diverse delivery teams, support project managers, and drive improvements in safety, quality and profitability across on-site and off-site activities, with travel across Omexom sites.

Qualifications

• Commercially focused self-starter with the enthusiasm, motivation and initiative to succeed in this role.
• Significant and relevant experience in Programme/Project Management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a multi-skilled team to achieve objectives.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to reach realistic workable solutions.
• Willingness to travel to all Omexom sites in Scotland on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the development of the operational area to support the Business Unit strategy and planning.
• Managing, directing and motivating multi-disciplined delivery teams, including direct and contract staff.
• Supporting Project Managers during project delivery phases, including resolving internal project escalation matters.
• Representing the Business Unit for project escalation matters from clients.
• Attending and representing the Business Unit for quarterly SHEQ, contract and project portfolio management with clients.
• Challenging existing practices within the Business Unit and introducing best practice process improvements.
• Taking overall resource management responsibilities for project teams, both off-site and on-site.
• Providing training and implementing development plans for Business Unit employees.
• Demonstrating a high level of performance in Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and financial targets.
• Fostering sustainable, profitable growth through customer contact and development of relationships.
• Monthly reporting for the operational unit to identify and promote productivity improvements.
• Ensuring recruitment, development and retention of staff to meet growth targets.
