Job summary

Omexom UK is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager on overhead line and substation projects across the UK. You will lead setting to work, coordinating teams and subcontractors, and ensuring safety, quality and productivity.

You will travel to various site locations, uphold health and safety culture, and report progress daily. The role requires strong collaboration with design engineers and client representatives, with opportunities to grow through Omexom’s training standards

Qualifications

• Experience in overhead line construction and utilities.
• Experience in supervising Overhead Line construction activities including subcontract works.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environment and quality aspects.
• Experience dealing with clients, landowners and 3rd parties (Network Rail, Highways, Environment Agency, DNOs).

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for Health & Safety for yourself, colleagues and others and promote Positive Interventions.
• Ensure works are conducted safely and proactively reduce site hazards.
• Conduct monitoring and inspections and report Positive Interventions.
• Develop and brief project inductions and setting to work briefings.
• Compile and issue documentation and permits (e.g. permit to dig) and maintain a register.
• Ensure works comply with quality standards and maintain records; enforce ITPs.
• Maintain and develop new skills per Omexom training standards.
• Undertake Site Manager/Project Manager duties as needed.
• Ensure programme timescales are met and monitor progress.
• Control project costs and capture changes.
• Maintain daily site diary and accurate records.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Liaise with landowners, 3rd parties, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Embed positive culture and communicate with clients.
