Job summary

Ceredigion County Council is seeking a motivated Senior Practitioner in the Substance Team to support the Team Manager and coordinate day-to-day service functions. You will promote high-quality practice and contribute to ongoing service development in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

The role requires experience in anti-discriminatory practice, harm reduction, and person-centered approaches, with strong communication, assessment and risk management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in anti-discriminatory practice and harm reduction.
• Knowledge of person-centered, strengths-based approaches.
• Strong communication, assessment and risk management skills.
• Understanding of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and national substance misuse strategies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily functions of the Substance Team.
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
• Manage a varied caseload including assessment, planning, review and risk management.
• Provide line management, supervision and support to intervention workers.
• Promote quality of practice, recording and evidence-based intervention.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to support positive outcomes for individuals and families.
