Job summary

Ceredigion County Council is recruiting for a Grade 11 Senior Practitioner within the Substance Team in Aberaeron, Wales. The role focuses on coordinating daily functions, supporting the team, and promoting high-quality practice with a people‑centred approach.

You will contribute to service development, manage a varied caseload and supervise intervention workers while collaborating with partner agencies to improve outcomes for individuals and families. A DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of anti-discriminatory practice, harm reduction principles and person-centered, strengths-based approaches.
  • Knowledge of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and relevant national substance misuse strategies.
  • Strong communication, assessment, risk management and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support management in coordinating the daily functions of the Substance Team.

This position qualifies for a market supplement payment of £200 per month. Please note this additional payment will be reviewed on 31 March 2027., As a Grade 11 Senior Practitioner within the Substance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager, coordinating day-to-day service functions, promoting high-quality practice, and contributing to continued service development.,

Porth Cynnal - Specialist Through Age Services Porth Cynnal provides intensive and specialist through-age assessment, care planning and review for those in need of longer term or complex care and support including quality assurance checks court and statutory interventions. The service consists of the following teams:

  • Planned Care: Adults and Children's Care and Support and Statutory Interventions' Teams
  • Extended Support: Adult and Children's Disability Team & Mental Capacity Specialist Support Team
  • Substance Misuse: Substance Misuse Team, Youth Justice Statutory Team and IFSS/Edge of Care Team
