Job summary

East Sussex County Council's Under 25s Substance Misuse Service is recruiting a Substance Misuse Practitioner to deliver evidence-based treatment interventions to young people and their families impacted by substance misuse. This is a unique opportunity to join a specialist multidisciplinary team delivering services across the county.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with young people and professionals.
• Ability to assess service users and manage risk in the community.
• Understanding of emotional health issues and risky behaviours.
• Knowledge of psychosocial interventions and harm reduction approaches.
• Willingness to work with multi-disciplinary health and social care teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions for young people and families.
• Conduct assessments and manage casework across the county.
• Collaborate with Children's, Adult Services and Health partners to achieve outcomes.
• Engage in supervision, reflective practice and CPD as part of a supportive team.
• Support service users to improve health, wellbeing and life opportunities.
