Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking an Expert - Structures to lead structural work across SMR programmes, reporting to the Head of Structures. The role combines technical leadership, governance and strategic influence, working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, robust and innovative solutions.

Hybrid working with Derby, Warrington or Manchester as the primary location. The role involves mentoring engineers, developing standards and presenting solutions to stakeholders, while supporting

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer status or equivalent demonstrable leadership capability.
• Experience leading structural delivery on major infrastructure, nuclear, power generation or regulated programmes.
• Deep expertise in structural analysis, design and substantiation across complex loading scenarios.
• Knowledge of industry codes, standards, governance processes and engineering assurance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across structural activities and drive robust SMR design solutions.
• Lead resolution of complex engineering issues balancing programme, safety, quality and commercial priorities.
• Develop engineering strategy, capability and technical standards for structures.
• Mentor and develop the engineering team and support professional registration.
