Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our nuclear infrastructure team in the UK. Based in London or Glasgow, you will lead structural design for safety-critical facilities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

You will provide technical leadership on reinforced concrete and steel structures, foundations and supporting infrastructure, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes for nuclear projects globally.

Qualifications

Experience with reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
Knowledge of safety-critical building design.
Experience with nuclear facility modifications and upgrades.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Multidisciplinary design coordination is essential.
Experience using structural analysis software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of nuclear and safety-critical facilities.
Develop concepts from feasibility through detailed design.
Deliver reinforced concrete and steel designs for buildings and plant structures.
Produce calculations, reports, specifications and documentation.
Coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical and instrumentation teams.
Support design reviews and engineering assurance activities.
Manage deliverables to project schedules and budgets.
Mentor developing engineers and interface with clients and contractors.
