Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion. You will produce calculations, reports, and detailed designs across multiple materials, collaborating with architects, clients and contractors.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, ensuring timeliness, budget adherence, and top-tier technical quality, with hybrid working options and a clear path toward Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in consultancy delivering structural design projects.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and masonry design.
• Experience with industry-standard structural design software.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Chartered status or working towards Chartership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
• Produce structural calculations, reports and detailed designs using a range of construction materials.
• Work closely with architects, clients and contractors throughout the design process.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.
