Job summary

Brandon James in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Structural Engineer with 2+ years' consultancy experience to join a well-established multi-disciplinary practice. You will work on diverse projects across commercial, residential, and energy sectors, with support toward Chartership and career progression.

You will design structures using steel, concrete, timber and masonry, produce calculations with Tekla/TEDDS, and collaborate with architects, clients and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of two years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
• Experience designing structures using steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Proficiency with Tekla, TEDDS or similar packages.
• A sound understanding of structural engineering principles, geotechnics and foundation design.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• IStructE or ICE membership, or a desire to Chartership.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Design structural solutions in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Produce structural calculations and reports using Tekla and TEDDS.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with project planning, coordination and technical delivery from concept to completion.
• Attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure works meet design specs and statutory requirements.
• Develop practical engineering solutions while maintaining high technical standards.
• Work towards Chartered Engineer status with mentor support.
