Job summary
Carrington West is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Leeds team, delivering practical structural solutions across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial sectors. You will work with experienced engineers and technicians, from concept to construction, and pursue Chartered status while developing technical and professional expertise in a collaborative environment.
The role offers hybrid working, a varied project portfolio, mentoring and ongoing CPD to support career
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in a UK structural engineering consultancy.
- Understanding of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
Responsibilities
- Design steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
- Carry out structural analysis and calculations using industry software.
- Produce design calculations, specifications and reports.
- Work from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
- Coordinate designs with architects, MEP consultants and contractors.
- Attend client and design team meetings and site inspections.
- Review drawings and ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
- Support projects to programme and budget while maintaining quality.
- Contribute to engineering process improvements.
