Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Civil and Structural Team within the Energy unit, focusing on power generation, HV substations, HVDC interconnectors and cable projects.

The role involves delivering design, FEED activities, proposal writing and cost estimation while coordinating multidisciplinary teams. This position offers hybrid working in the UK with opportunities for advancement within the team.

Qualifications

Deep understanding of structural engineering principles including load-bearing capacity, materials, and design codes.
Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000/ETABS for modeling complex structures.
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) to improve visualization, coordination and execution.
Ability to lead structural projects independently, overseeing timelines, budgets and quality.
Experience with FEED activities related to structural components.

Responsibilities

Carry out design work on power plants, HV substations, HVDC Interconnector converter stations, and HV cable projects.
Lead project management, proposal writing and cost estimation.
Prepare drawings for planning applications and tender packages.
Coordinate design across multidisciplinary teams.
Prepare specifications and assess existing structures for reuse.
