Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Technical Principal to join the Civil and Structural Team within the Energy unit. The role involves leading design on power plants, HV substations, HVDC interconnectors, and cable projects, with responsibilities spanning project management, FEED, and coordination across disciplines.

The successful candidate will manage projects from concept to delivery, prepare drawings, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced Structural Engineering knowledge including load-bearing capacity, material properties, and design codes (Eurocodes/ASCE).
• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS or similar software for modeling and analysis.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application to project visualization, coordination, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: lead structural engineering projects, oversee timelines and budgets.
• Proposal Writing and Cost Estimation: prepare compelling proposals and accurate cost estimates.
• FEED: lead FEED activities for structural components.
• Detailed Civil/Structural Design and drawing preparation for planning/tender packages.
• Design coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
