Purosearch is seeking a Design Manager / Senior Designer in Derby to lead façade design across high-profile projects from concept to completion. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive design quality and programme adherence.

The role requires proven façade or building envelope design experience, ability to lead design teams, and strong collaboration with clients and consultants.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience within façade or building envelope design.
• Previous experience as a Senior Designer or Design Manager.
• Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and façade design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the façade design process from pre-construction through project completion.
• Coordinate design teams, specialist subcontractors and external consultants.
• Review and approve technical drawings, calculations and design information.
• Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations, CWCT guidance and relevant industry standards.
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, material approvals and design changes.
• Attend client, design and site coordination meetings.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, commercial teams and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the design process.
• Mentor and support junior designers where appropriate.

Are you an experienced façade design professional looking to take ownership of high-profile projects from concept through to completion?

Our client is a leading specialist contractor within the façade and building envelope sector, delivering complex, high-quality projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Design Manager / Senior Designer to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced façade designer ready to step into a leadership role, or an established Design Manager looking to work on technically challenging projects with a respected contractor.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the design process across multiple façade projects, ensuring designs are technically compliant, commercially viable and delivered on programme.

Working closely with clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and internal delivery teams, you'll coordinate design information from tender through to construction while ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained.

• Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and façade design principles.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (Revit experience is advantageous).
• The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
