Job summary

Ayesa Engineering, a global consultancy with a strong UK & Ireland presence, is seeking a Senior/Principal Structural Design Engineer to join the Belfast team. You will lead design teams, liaise with clients, and deliver robust, compliant structures across varied projects.

With a background in Civil/Structural Engineering, Chartered status or progress toward chartership, and proficiency in structural analysis software, you will contribute to high-quality designs within timelines and budgets

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with a relevant institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
• Extensive experience in structural engineering design, preferably within consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software
• Strong knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, British Standards).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing design teams and delivering projects from conception to completion.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams and liaise with clients to ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.
• Design and analyze structures across diverse projects using reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
• Prepare technical documentation, contract documents and fee estimates.
• Communicate with clients to understand their sector and build lasting relationships.
• Manage a challenging workload and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
