Job summary

AECOM in Belfast is recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer to lead delivery of complex projects across residential, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and engage with senior stakeholders to grow our structural practice in Ireland.

The role requires a Chartered Engineer and a strong background in civil/structural engineering, with substantial multi-disciplinary design delivery, QA, and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with a recognised body (ICE/IStructE).
• Proven experience delivering structural engineering projects with multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of relevant design standards, health & safety regulations and QA processes.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the technical aspects of projects or designated work packages, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Manage end-to-end technical delivery from client briefs to coordinating designs across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Oversee and support engineers and technicians to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Ensure designs comply with health and safety standards and QA processes.
• Mentor and develop junior team members to support professional growth.
