Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK, is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Applied Science group. You will lead innovative analysis projects, develop solutions, and work with a skilled team to push technical boundaries in a fast-paced motorsport environment.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering degree, deep FEA knowledge including fatigue and nonlinear materials, and experience with Catia 3DX and HyperWorks.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree (2:1 minimum grade) or similar qualification.
• Thorough understanding of FEA methods.
• Core knowledge in fatigue, non-linear material behaviour and contact analysis.
• Hand calculation ability; Excel/VB or Python advantageous.
• Experience in automotive/top-level motorsport or equivalent high-level engineering.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis of highly complex components and assemblies to the highest standards.
• Collaborate with Applied Science team to optimise designs for performance and reliability.
• Improve simulation and analysis methodologies and processes.
• Specify and document test requests and stress reports.
