Job summary

Hastings Hotels Ballygally Castle is seeking a reliable Sous Chef to join our luxury Kitchen team. You will support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, ensuring Hastings standards of food preparation and presentation, and helping to maintain cost controls and stock management.

Hours are 45 per week, with a seven-day rota including weekends. We offer staff meals, employee discounts, 29 days holiday plus your birthday, and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or the equivalent in Food Preparation and Cooking.
• Hold a recognised current Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Right to Work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of the Kitchen to ensure Hastings standards of preparation and presentation are maintained.
• Help Head Chef manage smooth and efficient operation of the Kitchens.
• Ensure planning, preparation, cooking and presentation meet hotel and guest standards.
• Contribute to development of the hotel’s business plan and initiatives.
• Assist in managing culinary budget and kitchen expenditure.
• Ensure stock management policies are implemented and monitored.
