The role:
As a senior sous chef, you’ll be an inspirational leader, creating a positive environment for your team and guests. You will support continuous coaching and development of your team to excel while driving restaurant performance and delivering excellent results.
What you do:
- Focus on creating a positive environment where your team feels cared for and listened to, celebrating successes. Prioritize nurturing and developing talent, role modeling a coaching culture within management.
- Ensure an excellent guest experience by maintaining high standards for dish preparation, whether through your efforts or by empowering your team with necessary skills and mindset.
- Maintain impeccable food, health, and safety standards in your kitchen. Understand financial aspects like gross profit, stock control, and labor costs, and proactively spot opportunities.
- Build a coaching culture within your team, working with your head chef on recruitment and ongoing development. Foster personal and professional growth.
- Be a forward-thinking problem solver, capable of quick decision-making and thinking on your feet.
What we look for:
- Experience leading a kitchen team as a head chef or senior sous chef, driving performance through positive behavior in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with genuine conversations that ensure your team feels supported.
- Proven ability to maintain high standards for food, health, safety, and financial performance including GP and stock control.
- Experience managing labor costs and reacting to changing demands effectively.
- Leadership qualities that inspire and engage your team to flourish in their roles and careers.
- A passion for creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected and they belong.
- A forward-thinking problem solver, able to make quick decisions.
