Job summary

Chefs for Chefs LTD is recruiting a Senior Sous Chef for a countryside inn in Halifax. The role leads a busy kitchen, preserves the inn's two AA Rosettes, and contributes to developing seasonal menus.

The position offers a four-day working week, a 35k-40k salary plus share of service charge and weekly tips, with good hours and staff dining on shift. The business blends Yorkshire character with modern hospitality and a strong food focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality-led kitchen.
• Strong fresh food preparation and cooking skills.
• Pride in food presentation and consistency.
• Ability to lead a kitchen team during service.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Lead and support the kitchen team during busy services.
• Prepare and cook fresh, seasonal food to a high standard.
• Maintain presentation, quality and portion control.
• Help develop new dishes and seasonal menu ideas.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards are maintained.
• Support and mentor junior chefs.
• Assist with ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation.
• Help maintain and build the two-AA-Rosette standards.
