Job summary

Chefs for Chefs are recruiting a Senior Sous Chef for a multi-award-winning countryside inn in Barkisland, Halifax. The role offers a four-day week, a busy, high-standard kitchen aiming to retain two AA Rosettes, and development within an award-winning team.

You will work closely with the Head Chef, leading daily operations, mentoring staff, and delivering fresh, seasonal dishes with a Yorkshire and modern British focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality-led kitchen.
• Strong fresh food preparation and cooking skills.
• Pride in food and presentation.
• Confident leading a kitchen team during service.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Lead and support kitchen team during busy services.
• Prepare and cook fresh, seasonal dishes to high standards.
• Maintain presentation, quality and portion control.
• Develop new dishes and seasonal menu ideas.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards.
• Mentor junior chefs.
