Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to join the Account Integrity team, building a new, scalable fraud-prevention network that safeguards customer accounts and supports a global customer base. This high-impact role blends backend and frontend work with a strong product focus and real-world security outcomes.

You will own end-to-end projects, design and operate CI/CD pipelines, work with relational and NoSQL databases, and advocate best coding practices.

Qualifications

System Design & Operation: experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, distributed and concurrent systems.
Product Ownership: strong product mindset, accountability, and ability to drive projects independently.
Data Proficiency: experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, resilient schemas.
Code Quality: solid fundamentals, problem-solving, and test-driven development practices.
Collaboration: excellent communication across product, data science, and investigations teams.

Responsibilities

Building and refining critical controls to protect Wise customers' accounts from takeovers.
Drive backend and frontend for crime prevention and detection systems (80% backend, 20% frontend).
Deliver tangible impact by securing customer money and accelerating product growth through automation.
