Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Account Integrity team in London. You will build and refine controls to protect customer accounts, working primarily on backend systems with some frontend work using React/Typescript.

The role emphasizes scalable design, data-driven decisions, and collaboration across Product, Data Science, and Investigations teams. The ideal candidate has strong Java/JVM experience, experience with CI/CD, and a product mindset.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with Java or JVM languages and the Spring framework.
• Experience building scalable web applications handling high traffic.
• Proven ability to design and operate CI/CD pipelines and distributed systems.
• Strong product mindset with data-driven decision making and customer focus.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and query optimization.
• Commitment to Test Driven Development and high code quality.
• Excellent cross-team communication with Product, Data Science, Investigations.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine critical controls to protect Wise customers' accounts.
• Lead backend and frontend work for crime prevention and detection systems (80% backend / 20% frontend).
• Deliver real-world impact by securing customers' money and enabling product growth through automation.
