Job summary

Wise London is seeking a Software Engineer for our Scam Prevention team. This high-impact engineering role focuses on building scalable controls and detection systems to protect our global customer base and fight financial crime.

You will work on backend and frontend development (approximately 80% backend, 20% frontend) using Java/Spring and React, with a product-driven, data-informed approach to deliver real-world impact and support growth.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with Java or JVM languages (Spring) and building scalable web apps.
• Experience with React-based frontend applications; JavaScript/TypeScript desirable.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and distributed systems.
• Strong product mindset and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine controls to prevent scams for Wise customers.
• Drive backend and frontend development for scam prevention and detection systems – 80% backend / 20% frontend.
