Job summary

Wise in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II for the FinCrime - Scam Prevention Team. You will own end-to-end delivery, applying Java and Spring to scale defenses against fraud and protect customer funds.

The role balances backend work (80%) and frontend (20%), with an emphasis on quality through TDD and collaboration with Product, Data Science and Investigations to ship robust, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Engineering experience with Java or JVM-based languages and Spring.
• Experience designing scalable web applications handling high traffic.
• Proven ability to design and operate CI/CD pipelines and distributed systems.
• Strong product mindset, accountability and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and query optimization.
• Commitment to Test Driven Development and best coding practices.
