Job summary

JPMorganChase in London is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Cloud Engineering Acceleration team. You will work in an agile environment to design and deliver trusted, scalable technology products across the firm, focusing on secure, production-ready solutions.

You will pair with cross-functional teams, leverage AI-assisted coding tools, and contribute to automation (CI/CD) while upholding security and resiliency standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience delivering production-grade solutions using Java, Spring, Go, Python, Terraform, and/or Kubernetes.
• Practical cloud-native experience building and operating services on at least one public cloud provider (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Proficiency in automation and CI/CD.
• Working understanding of agile development practices, resiliency, and security fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with validation of outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code, and reviews, debugs, and maintains code written by others
• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
• Applies knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation (e.g., CI/CD, infrastructure automation)
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for platform services and complex applications, ensuring design constraints (security, resiliency, scalability, maintainability) are met
• Participates in design reviews and technical discussions to evaluate solutions, strengthen quality, and support scalable delivery
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Collaborates with teammates and partner teams to evaluate and adopt tools and frameworks that improve developer experience
• Contributes to knowledge sharing to support adoption of modern engineering approaches
• Promotes a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, respect, continuous improvement, and shared learning
