Job summary

JPMorganChase in London seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive cloud-native, AI-assisted engineering across international consumer banking projects. You will shape architecture, implement end-to-end solutions, and mentor teams while ensuring secure, scalable software delivery.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Understanding distributed systems and microservice architecture.
• Hands-on practical experience in design, development, testing and operations.
• Experience coding in Python or other languages and querying databases.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and security practices.
• Experience with public cloud services in production (AWS).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
• Experience leading CICD migrations and AI-assisted development tooling.

Responsibilities

• Drive epics independently with minimal support.
• Collaborate to enhance developer experience with tools and infrastructure supporting CI/CD.
• Develop, troubleshoot and deploy secure, high-quality production code.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications.
• Analyze data to improve software and system performance.
• Promote responsible AI usage and establish validation standards.
• Advocate for automation and tooling to improve delivery speed.
