Job summary

Leap29 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and modernise high‑performance desktop and cloud applications using C#/.NET. You will work hands‑on in a technically focused team, contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews and CI/CD practices, and help evolve existing products.

The role is 3 days per week onsite in the Aberdeen area, with opportunities to influence product direction.

Qualifications

5 to 15 years' professional software engineering experience.
Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET.
Proven experience designing and delivering complex production‑grade software.
Experience with desktop applications and/or cloud‑based solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain complex desktop and cloud-based applications using modern software engineering practices.
Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested C#/.NET code.
Apply object‑oriented principles, SOLID, design patterns and appropriate architectural approaches.
Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions.
Work closely with the Team Lead and Product Owner to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
Identify technical risks, trade‑offs and opportunities for improvement.
Contribute to CI/CD and automated testing practices.
Help modernise and evolve established software products.
Use AI‑assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and code‑generation/testing tools, where they add genuine value.
Evaluate and adopt relevant technologies, frameworks and cloud services.
Communicate technical concepts and challenges clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
