Job summary

Leap29 is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Oxfordshire to join a team delivering next-gen Rock Physics and Geoscience software. You will design, implement and maintain high-performance desktop and cloud applications, working across C#/.NET and C++ codebases.

You will mentor colleagues, conduct code reviews and help modernise legacy software. The role focuses on architecture, testing, CI/CD and collaboration with product owners and scientists.

Qualifications

• Five-plus years of producing production-grade software.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining high-performance desktop and cloud applications.
• Taking ownership of technical solutions from architecture through deployment.
• Working across C#/.NET and C++ codebases.
• Modernising legacy scientific software and migrating to modern frameworks and UX.
• Implementing best practices around architecture, design patterns and CI/CD.
• Collaborating with Product Owners and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
• Conducting code reviews and mentoring developers across the team.
• Exploring AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality.
• Contributing to technical strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
