Job summary

Kaluza is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II to join our Engineering team in a hybrid UK role (Bristol, London or Edinburgh). You’ll own product features end-to-end, build with AI coding agents, and deploy to production in a modern stack including TypeScript, Go and Scala.

From day one you’ll work on impactful problems, collaborate with design and product, and mentor peers to elevate the team. The compensation range is £75K–£90K with a discretionary bonus and flexible benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping production software in a modern stack.
• Experience with AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
• Ability to manage complex energy-related domains and microservices.
• Ownership of production deployments on cloud platforms.
• Strong product intuition and user-focused thinking.
• Clear written communication across specs, PRs and post-mortems.
• Mentor teammates and improve team practices.

Responsibilities

• Own a slice of the product end-to-end from design to production.
• Work across the stack and APIs as needed by the team.
• Build with AI coding agents and review their output and tests.
• Instrument shipped features to measure usage and impact.
• Shape the codebase and conventions to elevate output.
• Mentor peers and help evolve team practices.
