Job summary

Kaluza is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to evolve our internal developer platform. You’ll influence technical decisions, drive best practices, and reduce toil while ensuring security and scalable cloud operations for teams building our energy intelligence platform.

Based in London or Bristol with hybrid work, you’ll mentor engineers, own platform upgrades, and collaborate with stakeholders across Europe and beyond to advance our evolving platform for real-time decisions in energy systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing, building, and operating production applications at scale.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a passion for mentoring others.
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with production Kubernetes clusters.
• Proven expertise with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps patterns, and Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly platform that sets the standard for seamless software development and operations.
• Drive self-service tooling and abstractions to hide platform complexity from developers, boosting developer experience and velocity.
• Lead the use of Terraform, Helm, and Crossplane to automate provisioning and champion GitOps across cloud infra.
• Establish robust monitoring, logging, and tracing foundations in collaboration with the Site Reliability Engineering function.
• Embed automated security controls, ensure compliance, and participate in the on-call rota to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate technical upgrades with internal stakeholders.
