Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Social Work Practitioner for Shropshire Council to join the Social Care Team. The role includes working 37 hours per week with hybrid arrangements (1 day on-site every two weeks, and option for remote/office space).

The rate is 33.30 Umbrella with a 3-month duration and potential extension. You will support children to remain safe within their family networks, completing assessments and fostering strong relationship-based practice to achieve

Formación

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in kinship/connected persons fostering (Form K).
• Experience with SGO assessments and permanence planning.
• Experience with viability assessments and supporting foster carers.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills for court and panel.
• Confident in managing risk, safeguarding, and complex family dynamics.

Responsabilidades

• Complete Form K assessments to assess connected persons as foster carers.
• Undertake viability assessments to inform early permanence planning.
• Carry out SGO assessments, including support plans and court reports.
• Provide regular supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers.
• Support carers to manage placement challenges, contact arrangements, and transitions to permanence.
• Work closely with children's social workers and multi-agency partners to ensure coordinated care planning.
• Ensure all work is child-centred, evidence‑based, and within statutory timescales.

Our client Shropshire Council is looking for a Senior Social Work Practitioner to join their Social Care Team.

Rate of pay: 33.30 Umbrella

Hours: 37 hours per week

Hybrid Arrangements: 1 day required on sit every two weeks/ WFH/ Visit to families/ Office space if want to work in the office

Driver required

Duration: 3 Months with potential extension

You will be supporting children to remain safely within their family networks wherever possible. You will play a key role in achieving permanency for children through timely, high-quality assessments and strong relationship-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Form K assessments to assess connected persons as foster carers.
• Undertake viability assessments to inform early permanence planning.
• Carry out SGO assessments, including support plans and court reports.
• Provide regular supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers.
• Support carers to manage placement challenges, contact arrangements, and transitions to permanence.
