Job summary

Remedy Social Care is seeking a Senior Social Work Practitioner for the Kinship fostering team in Shropshire. You will support children to remain within family networks and drive permanency through high-quality assessments and relationship-based practice.

You will complete Form K assessments, viability assessments, and SGO work, while supervising kinship foster carers and coordinating with multi-agency partners to ensure timely, child-centred plans.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with registration in England (Social Work England).
• Experience in Kinship/connected persons fostering (Form K).
• Experience with SGO assessments and permanence planning.

Our client Shropshire council is looking for a Senior Social Work Practitioner to join their Kinship fostering team.

You will be supporting children to remain safely within their family networks wherever possible. You will play a key role in achieving permanency for children through timely, high-quality assessments and strong relationship-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Form K assessments to assess connected persons as foster carers.
• Undertake viability assessments to inform early permanence planning.
• Carry out SGO assessments, including support plans and court reports.
• Provide regular supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers.

• Confident in managing risk, safeguarding, and complex family dynamics.
