Job summary

Remedy Social Work is assisting Telford and Wrekin Council to recruit a Children's Advanced Practitioner for the Social Care team. The role is hybrid, with a mix of office-based and home working, initially for three months with a possible extension.

You will manage a diverse caseload, carry out timely assessments and contribute to care planning. Essential requirements include Qualified Social Worker status with CPD and registration, plus experience in Duty and Assessment or Safeguarding, Child

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with CPD commitment.
• Experience in Duty & Assessment, Referral & Assessment, Front Door or Children’s Safeguarding service.
• Strong experience undertaking Child and Family Assessments, risk assessments and safeguarding investigations.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads with sound professional judgment in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Use professional judgement to identify appropriate interventions, review progress and adapt plans where necessary.
• Undertake preventative work with families to reduce risk and improve outcomes for children.
• Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality assessments, reports and court documentation.
• Contribute to reflective practice, multi-agency working and continuous service improvement.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working, there will be an expectation that there will be a mixture of office based and home working as agreed with the team manager

Duration

Duration: 3 months with potential extension

Key Responsibilities

Experience & Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker/ Senior Social Worker with relevant professional registration and commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
• Experience within a Duty and Assessment, Referral and Assessment, Front Door or Children's Safeguarding service.
• Strong experience undertaking Child and Family Assessments, risk assessments and safeguarding investigations.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads, exercise sound professional judgement and make confident decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Please note: Strong Senior Social Workers with relevant experience will also be considered for this opportunity.
