Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London seeks a Senior Site Manager for a freelance role on a major new build school project in Essex. The job runs from an immediate start through to February 2028, with a project value around £80m including a new car park, primary and secondary schools, and a sixth form.

You will report to the on-site Senior PM and collaborate with another permanent Senior Site Manager. You will lead pre-start and design meetings, chair weekly subcontractor progress meetings, approve RAMS, manage

Responsibilities

• Attending and contributing in contractor pre-start meetings.
• Attending and contributing in design team meetings.
• Chairing weekly sub-contractor progress meetings, taking and issuing meeting minutes.
• Attending safe starts.
• Approving RAMS.
• Attending DABs and coordinating with other trades; when needed leading the meeting and issuing the DABS report.
• Enforcing H&S on site.
• Identifying potential problems and offering buildability solutions.
• Being tech savvy and able to engage with the supply chain and team.

Senior Site Manager

I've been tasked to find a Senior Site Manager for a reputable main contractor on a freelance basis. It is an immediate start and will finish in Feb '28.

The project is a new build school worth circa 80m, including a new car park. It consists of building a primary school, secondary school and sixth form. You will building from the start to finishing including, piling, steel frame structure, facade, roofing and then fit out. The school is steel frame with a brick work fa ade. Once the external packages are completed you will be required to fit out the classrooms etc.

You'll be reporting to an on site Senior Project Manager and work in alongside another permanently employed Senior Site Manager.

Responsibilities for the Senior Site Manager
