Job summary

A reputable main contractor is seeking a Senior Site Manager for a freelance, five-year new build school project in the UK. You will lead site operations from piling through steel frame, brick façade, roofing and fit-out, reporting to the on-site Senior Project Manager and coordinating with another Senior Site Manager.

You must hold SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid at Work. The role requires strong on-site leadership, a hands-on approach to HSE, RAMS approval, coordination with design and trade teams,

Qualifications

• SMSTS required.
• CSCS card required.
• First Aid at Work certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Attend and contribute in pre-start meetings.
• Attend and contribute in design team meetings.
• Chair weekly sub-contractor progress meetings and issue minutes.
• Attend safe starts and RAMS approvals.
• DABS coordination and report to team members.
• Enforce on-site H&S and drive buildability solutions.
• Engage with supply chain and other team members.

Senior Site Manager

I've been tasked to find a Senior Site Manager for a reputable main contractor on a freelance basis. It is a start in Ocotber and it is a 5 year scheme. The project is a new build school worth circa £80m, including a new car park. It consists of building a primary school, secondary school and sixth form. You will building from the start to finishing including, piling, steel frame structure, facade, roofing and then fit out. The school is steel frame with a brick work façade. Once the external packages are completed you will be required to fit out the classrooms etc. You'll be reporting to an on site Senior Project Manager and work in alongside another permanently employed Senior Site Manager.

Responsibilities for the Senior Site Manager

• Attending and contributing in contractor pre start meetings.
• Attending and contributing in design team meetings.
• Chairing weekly sub-contractor progress meetings, taking and issuing meeting minutes.
• Attending safe starts.
• Approving RAMS.
• Attending DABS and contributing to the meeting, discussing coordination with other trades. If necessary taking the meeting, issuing the DABS report to all other team members.
• Enforcing H&S on site.
• Identifying potential problems, offering buildability solutions.
• Someone who is tech savvy.
• Someone who can engage with the supply chain and other team members.
