This North East based civil engineering contractor has over 40 years of industry experience, specialising in a wide range of services including road and sewer construction, drainage systems and earthworks.Operating primarily across the North East of England, the company serves a variety of clients, including house builders, local authorities, and private developers.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Site Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in site engineering, demonstrating a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to manage and oversee projects from start to finish. The role will involve site supervision, liaising with contractors, ensuring quality standards are met, and overseeing the safety of all site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  
• Use surveying equipment and tools to set out the site, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment of structures.
  
• Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and legal requirements.
  
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and policies to maintain a safe working environment on-site.
  
• Maintain accurate records of site progress, safety audits, and inspections, and produce regular progress reports for management.
  
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior / Site Engineer or in a similar role within the construction or civil engineering industry.
  
• HND, BSc, or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  
• CSCS card
  
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and surveying equipment.
  
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
  
• First Aid certification and Temporary Works Coordinator training are advantageous.
  
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, design specifications, and project management.
  
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
